OverviewAs a Facultative Facilities Portfolio leader in North America, you’ll design and deliver reinsurance solutions for U.S. insurance companies of all sizes. Your focus is on building scalable facultative facilities—primarily for Property and Casualty risks, with some exposure to Specialty lines like construction, energy, and professional liability. You’ll place these programs in the reinsurance market, drive production, and grow revenue. You’ll also collaborate closely with treaty reinsurance colleagues who serve the same client base and play a key role in hiring specialized talent in strategic locations to scale capabilities across North America.

Key Responsibilities
Design Reinsurance Facilities
- Build tailored facultative programs for Property, Casualty, and select Specialty lines.
- Ensure structures meet client needs and align with market appetite.
- Assess market U.S. market penetration and size and scope of opportunity in the U.S. market to build an ambitious and exciting Facultative book of business.
- Identify the required talent to develop the business and maximize the opportunity in respect of Individual Risk Fac (IR) and Fac Facilities/Portfolio Solutions across Lines of business e.g. Property, Casualty and Specialties.
- Manage the P&L of the Facultative business in North America, revenue and expenses and usual Forecasting monthly process and budgeting year on year.
- Engage with Gallagher Re leaders and key stakeholders across Gallagher e.g. GGB, RPS, Artex, to align the outwards Fac opportunity emanating from USA domestic and E&S carriers, as well as insurance captives’ companies and Managing agents transferring risk to the Facultative market, and to socialize actuarial and geospatial modeling capabilities within the broader Facultative team.
- Build a repeatable model ensuring consistency of cross-team engagement and delivery.
- Lead development of creative risk solutions for Facultative, particularly with respect to the U.S. book of business and targeted client opportunities that drive results and grow the Facultative business.
Place Programs in the Market
- Negotiate terms and secure capacity from reinsurers.
- Deliver competitive pricing and strong coverage terms.
- This is sales and leadership role and therefore the incumbent will have in-depth knowledge of Fac across multiple geographies and a proven track record in the ability to create and deliver new and existing Fac opportunities.
- The incumbent should have the skills, ability and profile to be seen as a market expert and thought leader in Fac globally with an ability and a proven track record of C Suite engagement.
Drive Production
- Promote facility usage across insurers to maximize volume.
- Work with brokers and underwriters to generate consistent submissions.
- Expand and build upon teams in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and other geographies as required to support customer based located across the U.S.
- Attract credible Property Fac broking talent to Gallagher, including senior producing hires.
- Maintain senior-level market relationships.
- Partner with GGB Retail brokers to win bigger business, deliver a better client experience, and strengthen market relationships.
- Work collaboratively with all functions including Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance and HR.
- Provide strategic advice to Facultative clients in the U.S. and internationally.
Collaborate Across Reinsurance Teams
- Partner with treaty reinsurance colleagues to align strategies and share insights.
- Coordinate efforts to serve shared insurance clients more effectively.
- A proven track record of successful leadership in strategic planning and execution with the successful delivery of business growth in reinsurance
- Preferably a proven track record of success in the reinsurance markets.
- Previous successful KPI management with record of driving revenue generation along with strong analytical and commercial thinking
- Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and value add at a senior level.
- Ability to Innovate and provide next generation thinking for the issues facing the cedant Fac markets today.
- High levels of commercial and strategic literacy

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the reinsurance market, with a proven track record of leadership and business development
We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
