Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OB/GYN RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract requiring LDRP and Newborn Nursery experience with Epic proficiency and an active NY RN license.

Details

• Community hospital setting, preferred experience in community hospital environments
• OB/GYN unit serving patients across all phases of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and Newborn Nursery patient population
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Rotating weekend coverage, every other weekend required
• On-call shifts are required for this position
• Floating required within skillset
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP; EFM certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of acute hospital OB experience required
• Experience in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care required
• LDRP and Newborn Nursery experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Skills required include: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, infusion pump management, cardiac monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, EFM (internal and external), C-section circulating/recovering/scrubbing, obstetrical triage, and Foley catheter insertion
• Medication experience required: antihypertensives, Pitocin (oxytocin), and insulin drips; Magnesium Sulfate therapy preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Independently provide comprehensive care to patients across all phases of obstetrical and newborn care
• Responsibilities include vaginal and high-risk delivery assistance, C-section support, postpartum hemorrhage management, newborn assessment, APGAR scoring, and discharge teaching to parents
• Care for patients with conditions including pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, pregnancy-induced hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and premature rupture of membranes
• Perform or assist with procedures including sterile vaginal/speculum exams, D&C, and tubal ligation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility within the past year are not eligible
• RTO requests exceeding 10 days during the 13-week contract cannot be accommodated; all time-off requests must be disclosed upfront
