Controller/Accountant

Accountant familiar with Construction and Real Estate

Familiarity with Premier SOFTWARE package a plus.

E&T is a New York Based General Contractor, Developer and Property Manager in the New York City area.

Essential Job Functions

The primary role is to manage the company’s bookkeeping, accounts payable, prepare monthly bank requisitions/draws, communicate with 3rd party accountants/clients, reconcile accounts to the bank statements, prepare financial reports and 401K & payroll management.

Responsibilities

· Accounts Payable – work with junior bookkeepers on inputting commitments, coding and recording all payables into accounting software. Prepare check runs and hand checks when necessary.

· Prepare monthly bank requisitions/draws for each property under construction (Hard Cost requisitions prepared by Construction Project Manager) in accordance with the Building Loan agreement

· Bank reconciliations – Monthly bank reconciliation for all company accounts. Assisted by Junior staff.

· Bring books to the Trial Balance stage

· Run bi-weekly payroll through ADP

· Point person for communications with outside accountants. Monthly meetings between outside accountant and team.

· Preparation of financial reports

· HR, Insurance, Pension & Payroll Management

· Property Management Accounting

Qualifications and Skills

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping/controller work for construction focused company.

· Familiarity with Premier Software preferred, but Timberland or similar software also ok

· Clear, comfortable and positive demeanor

· Able to organize and prioritize projects efficiently and effectively

· Ability to simultaneously manage projects with both long and short-term deadlines.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Quick learner

Education & Certifications

· BS Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business

· CPA, State of New York
