What is a Recruiter?
Central Hudson is seeking a Recruiter who will lgain and own the full life cycle of recruiting for various positions across all levels and departments (e.g. Customer Service, Engineering & Operations, Finance & Support Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, etc.). Recruiters provide end-to-end management of a high volume of internal and external candidates and implement and utilize creative talent attraction tools and sourcing methods. Recruiters also partner with business units to develop and lead recruiting strategies and actively seek out, research, organize, and attend outreach and recruiting events to attract high quality, diverse talent while promoting the company locally and beyond. Title/level is commensurate with practice.
What does a Recruiter do?
»Performs full cycle recruiting including sourcing candidates (passive & active), screening & interviewing candidates (by phone, video or in-person), leading decision meetings & recommending candidates for hire/disposition, and facilitating the pre-employment, hiring & onboarding process
»Provides support to candidates all over the recruitment process to ensure an excellent practice; conducts regular follow-up and quickly builds and maintains relationships with ease
»Works with business units and hiring managers to create function descriptions, job postings, recruiting strategies, obtain feedback, and improve and optimize the recruiting & onboarding process
»Attends job fairs and industry conferences; runs company booth at job fairs.
»Manages candidate data, employee transactions and everyday activity in our HRIS, Workday; administration, testing and optimization of our applicant tracking system
»Creates, develops, and fosters short and long-term relationships with internal & external clients, organizations, agencies, businesses, colleges and universities in order to build & maintain robust talent pipelines
»Assists with the administration & coordination of the company’s testing, compensation, internship, and college recruiting programs
»Monitors, audits, and reviews the employment process and all related transactions to ensure compliance with federal & state equal employment opportunity and affirmative action laws & regulations
»Utilizes traditional and creative methods to identify, attract and close top talent
»Conducts ad hoc reporting, interview scheduling and additional tasks as required
»Supports storm/emergency restoration efforts
What does it take to be a Recruiter?
Required:
»A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational/behavioral psychology, social science, management information systems, or a significant field. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree and 2+ years of practice in a recruiting, customer service/success, account management, or related function/function, or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years’ practice as listed above
» practice with Microsoft Office suite products (e.g. Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and the capability to lgain new systems/programs quickly
»Clear and concise written & verbal communication expertise to effectively connect with candidates, hiring managers, and senior leadership abilities all over various stages of the recruiting cycle
»Strong organizational expertise and a high level of attention to detail
»Strong analytic, problem solving, and decision-making expertise
»Flexibility to multitask and operate in an evolving environment, no task too big or small attitude
» capability to think short and long-term with big-picture goals & potential impacts in mind
»Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
»A Bachelor’s degree
»Previous recruiting practice, with prior practice sourcing and placing talent in technical functions
» practice with Workday Recruiting, HCM, Compensation, Talent, Reporting and LinkedIn Recruiter
» practice utilizing and managing applicant tracking systems (e.g. Taleo, Workday Recruiting)
» practice implementing HR systems and/or integrations with third party vendors
» expertise of Federal and New York State employment laws & regulations
»Familiarity with diversity & inclusion plans and affirmative action plans
» practice with testing administration & support (e.g. EEI, PSP)
»Recruiting practice in a regulated environment
»Strong consultative and negotiation expertise
»Advanced MS Excel expertise
