The Job You Will Perform:
A general maintenance worker is responsible for the upkeep and repair of facilities, equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe and functional environment. They perform a wide range of tasks, including minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and general cleaning. Their duties can vary based on the specific needs of the employer, but often include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC system maintenance.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, buildings, and grounds.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Conducting minor repairs on items like doors, windows, and fixtures.
- Assisting with larger maintenance projects as needed.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Inspecting equipment and systems to identify potential problems.
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks, such as changing filters and lubricating equipment.
- General Cleaning and Upkeep:
- Cleaning and maintaining restrooms, common areas, and grounds.
- Removing debris and trash from the premises.
- Maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Other Duties:
- Moving furniture and equipment as needed.
- Assisting with setup for meetings and events.
- Following safety procedures and reporting any hazards.
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and other team members
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Experience working with International Paper preferred.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Understanding of safety procedures.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to follow instructions.
