Virtual Reading Room Assistant-Radiology
The Virtual Reading Room Assistant is a key partner to the radiologists in the virtual reading room. The Virtual Reading Room Assistant has the ability to provide critical skills including, but not limited to, managing phone calls to and from the reading room, triaging communication with the radiologist and referring providers, building relationships, and troubleshooting issues that arise in the daily operations of the reading room. These tasks create an efficient and more productive department while increasing the quality of patient care and improving the experience of the patient, radiologist, and referring provider.
Responsibilities1. Obtains appropriate patient history and documentation to assist referring physicians in ordering appropriate imaging exams.
2. Reviews reports and provide information to clinicians on reported studies.
3. Distributes critical radiology test results as appropriate.
4. Acts as liaison between radiologists, referring clinicians, technologists and nursing staff.
5. Participates in a variety of internal clinical programs and conferences.
6. Assists in the proctoring program that is in place for physicians, which may involve tracking the proctored cases and following up on communication and reconciliation of discrepant readings.
7. Responds to telephone calls to the radiologist, refer appropriate inquiries to the relevant individual and make follow-up telephone calls/pages/email communication as clinically appropriate.
8. Assists in the development and implementation of new protocols, procedures, policies, and report templates, including writing and editing.
9. Oversees data collection for clinical trials and research studies and maintain strict adherence to protocol requirements as required by the FDA.
10. Tracks SLAs and notify radiologists of any studies that are approaching time limits.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Associate Degree or certification, i.e. M.A., CNA, ARRT, etc.
- 2 years progressively responsible directly related work experience.

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $23.0137 - $34.5206 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
