Position Title: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Location: New York, NY 10037

Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Type: Contract | (3x12-Hour Day Shifts)

Pay Range (Local): $70 – $75 per hour

Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for an exciting job in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized nursing care to pediatric patients requiring intensive and critical care interventions.

• Serve as a Nurse Preceptor for up to two (2) newly assigned RNs during orientation and training.

• Educate and mentor preceptees in PICU best practices, safety standards, and clinical decision-making.

• Evaluate preceptees’ clinical performance, provide guidance, and document progress.

• Supervise and perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation procedures as needed.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Uphold hospital policies, infection control standards, and federal/state regulations.

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Qualifications

Education:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years in Maternal and Child Health nursing.

• Minimum of 2 years with IV insertion and phlebotomy.

• Minimum of 2 years performing or assisting with conscious sedation.

• Minimum of 5 years total relevant nursing experience, including Preceptor responsibilities.

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York .

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
