Automotive sales manager

James Chevrolet is seeking a dedicated and experienced Automotive Sales Manager to lead our sales team in Johnstown, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales performance, developing strong customer relationships, and ensuring an exceptional buying experience for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a passion for the automotive industry, and a proven track record in sales management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed monthly and yearly sales targets.


• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize dealership profitability.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and manufacturers.


• Oversee daily sales operations, including inventory management and pricing strategies.


• Train and mentor sales staff to improve product knowledge and customer service.


• Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.


• Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.


• Ordering new vehicles


• Managing the new car inventory


• Managing the website


• Stay up to date on all GM and lender programs


• TO customers as needed

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automotive Sales Manager or similar sales leadership role.


• Strong knowledge of automotive products, market dynamics, and customer behavior.


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse sales team.


• Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.


• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
