Salary: $43,750-$48,750

General Summary: This employee’s primary responsibility is in working with court

involved individuals, both criminal and family court, to ensure each person is

provided with the resources and services necessary to improve their lives in some

manner. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exemplary skill fostering strong

relationships with individuals who might struggle with mental illness, chemical

addiction, poverty, homelessness and other social service needs. They will

demonstrate familiarity with the wide array of local resources available to

community members in the hopes of linking clients to services. Finally, they will

have the ability to work well independently, collaborate effectively with local

agencies, departments, county jail, local courts, and engage positively with the

public, including potential clients and various other stakeholders.

Responsibilities: Schuyler OAR Case Worker will work toward a services delivery

model assisting clients with accessing the services and support necessary to return

to and remain in the community. These responsibilities include:

 Conduct initial interviews with individuals at risk of and/or returning home

from incarceration and follow up with bi-weekly meetings.

 Identify urgent needs and collaborate with other local service providers to

meet these needs with a focus on housing and employment.

 Assess clients’ preferences and abilities and work with the client to develop a

care plan and assist and support each client in meeting their goals.

 Recording clients’ progress, referrals and housing/employment placement,

and recidivism.

 Consistent collaboration with other providers.

 Client Services case Worker will visit the jail as needed to obtain applications

and provide referrals to services that can be accessed by inmates while

incarcerated. In addition, the Case Worker will help each incarcerated

inmate serving local time with the development of a transition reentry plan

for their use upon release. This will include assistance with applications for

Social Services and other eligible programs to assist them with their return

to the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

The Client Services Case Worker must possess a bachelor’s degree, or an

associate’s degree with 4-5 years’ experience working with vulnerable populations.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with court involved individuals,

navigating local resources and supporting linkages and referrals to services within

Schuyler County, which might include housing, assigned counsel intakes,

employment, mental health linkages, substance uses supports, and/or supporting

people navigating eligible benefits. We will consider any combination of

experience and education.
