Industry: AI Infrastructure – Energy – Data Center Role: Controller Salary: $200,000 - $225,000/annually Location: New York City (Hybrid/Flexible Occasional Travel) About the Role: Our client, a high-growth AI infrastructure company, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations and help build a scalable finance function that supports a growing organization. This individual will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, maintaining accounting accuracy, strengthening internal processes, and ensuring the finance infrastructure can support future growth. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, improving processes, implementing systems, and partnering with leadership on key financial and operational priorities. Background in high-growth infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, energy, construction, or similar operating environments is strongly preferred Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records Develop scalable accounting processes and documentation that support organizational growth Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare and review financial statements and supporting analyses Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies Monitor accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement Manage accounting and reporting related to capital investments and long-lived assets Establish and maintain processes for asset capitalization, depreciation, and asset lifecycle management Support accounting for projects, investments, and other significant expenditures Oversee accounting aspects of vendor management and purchasing processes Review complex contracts and financial commitments to ensure appropriate accounting treatment Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and financial discipline Coordinate relationships with external auditors and advisors Monitor compliance with tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems and reporting tools Leverage automation and technology to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance reporting, workflows, and data quality Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights and business recommendations Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities Contribute to financial analyses that support operational and investment decisions Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA or equivalent professional certification required Significant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or controllership roles Experience leading month-end close and financial statement preparation Background supporting growing organizations or evolving finance functions Experience within capital-intensive, project-based, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, energy, construction, or similar operating environments is strongly preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting platforms Familiarity with multi-entity accounting environments and intercompany transactions Strong process improvement and systems implementation experience Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities Hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly accountable
