JOB DESCRIPTION
Looking for an practiced Development adjunct to assist with marketing campaigns, serve as the public relations liaison, and event planning for agency events among other development tasks and responsibilities.Independent Living, Inc. is a consumer-directed, cross-discapability advocacy and service organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals living in the Hudson Valley region and we seek to hire a Development adjunct that would support the Chief Advancement agent with the marketing and development plan for the agency. Bachelor's degree, preferred. Two years of office management or clerical practice, required. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Bi-lingual, English/Spanish, a plus.

tasks AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
»Supports the Chief Advancement agent in implementation of campaigns and other marketing efforts, as outlined in the 3-year Marketing and Development Plan.
»Assists in tracking and assessing key performance indicators and metrics to measure the success of marketing efforts.
»Supports the Chief Advancement agent in identifying grant opportunities. Attends grant meetings and takes minutes.
»Assists in development and dissemination of external quarterly newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and other marketing and development related documents.
»Under the direction of the Chief Advancement agent, serves as public relations liaison with community business partners, provider organizations and donor base. Supports cultivation and maintenance of new community partnerships.
»Coordinates the dissemination of announcements to local/regional print and electronic media, including notifications of special events, PSA's and community calendar entries.
»Schedules and assists in preparing for monthly and ad-hoc tours and educational community events.
»Responsible for inviting attendees, room setup, handouts and refreshments for all development related events, activities and meetings.
»Writes stories and vignettes for the Development Office as needed.
»Maintains donor database, mailing lists and coordinates regular mailings as directed.
»Keeps copies of agency statistics, grants, donor communications, and other files as needed.
»Attends evening and weekend community events as needed.
»Maintains and monitors agency websites and social mediapostings; maintains agency photo and video library releases. Assists in photo and video acquisition for agency purposes.
»Assists in coordination of fundraising and donor events and attends as needed.

Qualifications
»Bachelor's degree, preferred.»Two years of office management or clerical practice, required.
»Must have proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
»Bi-lingual, English/Spanish, a plus.
»Preferred proficiency in data management.
»Preferred proficiency in Canva and other Graphic Design support applications, such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
»Familiar with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the ADA Accessibility Guidelines.
»Strong organizational expertise and the capability to multi-task.
»Excellent written and verbal presentation expertise.
»Must have strong communication (e.g. listening, writing, discerning, empathizing, etc.), customer service, analytical, follow-up, attention to detail and assertiveness expertise.
»Honesty, respect for diversity, high personal standards, language and behaviors reflecting such values and the Independent Living philosophy.
»Demonstrated capability to recognize the need for and facilitate connections between consumers and IL and other discapability related services.
