About the Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Operative team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in post-operative recovery, patient monitoring, and critical care support.

Key Responsibilities:

Cardiac Care

• Arterial line management
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management

Genitourinary/Renal

• Renal surgery care
• AV fistula/shunt management
• TURP procedures

Gynecology

• Bilateral tubal ligation
• Hysterectomy
• Mastectomy

Neurological

• EVD (External Ventricular Drain) management
• ICP monitoring
• Stroke scale assessment
• Spine and craniotomy recovery care

Orthopedics

• Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF)
• Circulation checks
• Total joint replacement

Respiratory

• Ventilator care
• Chest tube management
• Tracheostomy care
• ABG interpretation
• Airway management & monitoring (End-Tidal CO₂)

Pre/Post Operative Responsibilities

• Pre-operative assessment & patient education
• Administer pre-op medications
• Monitor post-operative recovery
• Wound care (including wound vacs)
• Discharge planning & instructions
• ECG/EKG monitoring
• Urinary catheterization (male & female)

Specialty Care

Cardiovascular

• CPR & cardiac arrest response
• Vascular and carotid procedures

Endocrine

• Blood glucose monitoring
• Insulin and glycemic protocols

ENT

• Tonsillectomy
• Neck dissection procedures

Gastrointestinal

IV Therapy & Clinical Skills

• Central line & PICC line management
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Blood product administration
• Port access
• Phlebotomy

Medications Administration

• Antiarrhythmics
• Anticoagulants
• Antihypertensives
• Emergency medications
• IV vasopressors
• Sedation and reversal agents
• Pain management (including PCA pumps & opioids)

Anesthesia Types Exposure

• General anesthesia
• Local anesthesia
• Conscious sedation
• Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
• Nerve blocks & spinal anesthesia
• Post-epidural care

Additional Skills

• Lab value interpretation
