General Manager
This opportunity is the leader of a fine dining, members cocktail bar, please DO NOT apply if you do not have at least 3+ years with a world class, high volume program in a members club and fine dining environment. We are not reviewing applicants with primarily casual dining experience. AGM and Bar Managers, Beverage Directors, Sommeliers or other FOH leaders with similar experience are encouraged to apply. Position SummaryA new high end, membership driven, fine dining cocktail and wine bar is soon to open in Manhattan. The General Manager (GM) is the operational and cultural leader of the bar and floor, accountable for financial performance, team development, guest experience, and facility stewardship. This role functions as the primary business owner and cultural leader for the service team, translating vision into execution and ensuring the bar operates with excellence, consistency, and profitability. The GM will work in partnership with the Director of Hospitality.

Leadership Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality- Set and uphold the vision for hospitality
- Ensure the guest experience is consistent, elevated, and emotionally resonant.
- Personally engage with guests, members, and staff
- Establish service recovery standards that turn challenges into loyalty.
- Lead the management team through a servant-leader mindset—supporting, coaching, and developing leaders.
- Own all human capital functions, including:
- Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding
- Training and development programs
- Performance management and corrective action
- Succession planning and leadership development
- Foster a culture of accountability, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
- Resolve conflicts constructively and model cross-functional leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all NYC and NYS labor laws, including:
- Wage and hour requirements
- Paid Sick Leave
- Scheduling, timekeeping, and anti-harassment policies
- Own full P&L responsibility for the bar.
- Develop, manage, and execute annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor and control:
- Labor costs (FOH and BOH)
- Food and beverage costs
- Inventory management
- Fine wine and spirit inventory and consignment process
- Hiring, training, and ongoing education for entire staff
- Analyze financial reports and translate insights into operational action.
- Drive revenue through service strategy, pricing, menu engineering, and community engagement.
- Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and financial controls.
- Oversee all daily operations to ensure seamless execution across FOH and BOH.
- Ensure compliance with:
- NYC Department of Health regulations
- NYS SLA requirements
- Fire, building, and safety codes
- Maintain the physical space, including:
- Preventative maintenance programs
- Vendor management
- Capital improvement planning
- Manage relationships with landlords, inspectors, and service providers.
- Ensure the restaurant is safe, clean, and fully operational at all times.
Administrative & Systems Leadership
- Implement and maintain operational systems including:
- Scheduling and labor tools
- POS and reporting systems
- Inventory and purchasing systems
- CRM and loyalty programs
- Ensure accurate record keeping and documentation.
- Maintain required licenses, permits, and certifications.
- Communicate effectively with ownership through clear reporting and proactive problem-solving.
Qualifications & Experience
Leadership, Business Acumen, & Experience- 3+ years of bar/restaurant/members club management experience (General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Beverage Director, Bar Manager, Sommeliers or equivalent).
- 2-5 years of fine wine experience, ideally with WSET training in wines and spirits.
- 3+ years experience with high volume craft cocktail programs.
- 3+ years experience in fine dining.
- Demonstrated success owning a restaurant P&L.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing management teams.
- Strong working knowledge of NYC and NYS labor laws and regulatory requirements.
- Deep alignment with hospitality-first, people-centered leadership philosophies.
- Demonstrated ability to operationalize best in class hospitality at scale.
- Strong emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution skills.
- Full-time, salaried role requiring flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to move throughout the restaurant for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
