Football Equipment Manager - Part-Time
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, temporary part-time. 20 hours a week. This is a seasonal, non-benefits eligible position.
manager: Head Equipment Manager
Position Purpose: Assists the Head Equipment Manager to ensure equipment and apparel for the football program is safe for practice and competition in support of the mission and core values of Union College.
Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
» Equipment Management: Inspects, evaluates, and maintains football equipment to ensure it is kept in top working condition and meets safety standards. Ensures proper fitting and adjustment of football protective equipment of intercollegiate programs, for maximum protection against injury. Works closely with Equipment Manager, Athletic Training Staff and student workers to create an efficient, collaborative and safe environment for student-athletes. Attends practices and games to troubleshoot any equipment or apparel issues.
Qualifications
»Bachelor's Degree and/or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice.
»Comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols. Proficient in equipment fitting, maintenance, and repair. capability to prioritize safety standards to prevent injuries and mitigate risks connected with football-related activities.
»Strong organizational and interpersonal communication expertise and an knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations are necessary.
»Detail-oriented to ensure safety and inventory of equipment.
»The capability to foster and enhance a thriving, diverse, inclusive, and culturally vibrant community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, faculty and staff colleagues, and alumni.
» capability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
» capability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
»Must possess or obtain a valid New York State driver's license.
The expected rate for this job offer is $20.00 an hour. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
