Position Overview:

As the Customer Support Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of customer support specialists to ensure the smooth operation of our library services. You will serve as the primary point of contact for patrons seeking assistance, as well as supervise and evaluate the performance of the customer support team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a knack for problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise a team of customer support specialists, providing guidance, support, and training as needed

- Act as the first point of contact for patrons seeking assistance, resolving issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner

- Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring all team members follow library policies and procedures

- Develop and implement strategies to improve customer service processes and procedures

- Oversee the scheduling of staff and monitor workflow to ensure efficient and effective use of resources

- Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve customer service issues

- Conduct performance evaluations for team members and provide regular feedback and coaching

- Stay knowledgeable about library programs, services, and resources in order to provide accurate information to patrons

- Prepare reports and present findings to the library administration as needed

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a library setting

- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage a team effectively

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Proven ability to handle and resolve complex customer service issues

- Proficient in using technology and familiar with library systems and software

- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively

- Ability to adapt to changing situations and think creatively to find solutions

- Enthusiasm for community engagement and a passion for public library services
