Low Volume Flywheels - 3rd Shift

Cummins Inc.
New York, NY

We are looking for a talented Low Volume Flywheels - 3rd Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Jamestown, NY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Strengthen workplace safety by actively identifying hazards, stopping unsafe work, and modeling consistent use of protective equipment.
  • Protect Team well-being through timely reporting of incidents and promoting a culture where coworkers look out for one another.
  • Improve product quality by following standard work, raising concerns early, and supporting inspection activities that prevent defects and reduce cost.
  • Keep production flowing by reliably performing assigned tasks, demonstrating core work skills, and adapting to changing manufacturing needs.
  • Advance continuous improvement by contributing ideas that enhance safety, quality, process efficiency, and material flow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized environment that supports productivity, reduces risk, and preserves company resources.
  • Build a stronger team through clear communication, collaboration with peers and support groups, and active participation in training.
  • Support long‑term operational excellence by learning and applying the Cummins Operating System (COS) and embracing opportunities for personal development.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Build strong partnerships by working closely with teammates, sharing information openly, and supporting others so the group can meet shared goals.
  • Adapt your communication style so you can clearly explain tasks, ask for help, and share updates in ways that different audiences—peers, leads, or support teams—can easily understand.
  • Stay customer‑focused by understanding how your work affects the next step in the process, the final product, and ultimately the customer’s experience.
  • Invest in your own development by seeking feedback, taking advantage of training, and pushing yourself to learn new skills that increase your value on the floor.
  • Champion safety every day by identifying hazards, reporting concerns immediately, and modeling the behaviors that create an injury‑free, interdependent safety culture.
  • Stay consistent with safety fundamentals —using PPE correctly, following procedures, and encouraging others to do the same—so safety becomes second nature.
  • Take initiative in problem‑solving by speaking up when something isn’t right, offering ideas for improvement, and participating in actions that strengthen quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain a reliable, positive presence that helps the team operate smoothly, especially during busy periods or when priorities shift.
