Manager of Receiving, MSH
Description
The Manager of the Receiving Department is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, and storage of all incoming supplies and equipment for the hospital. This role ensures that all deliveries are processed efficiently and accurately, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities- Oversee the daily operations of the receiving department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all incoming shipments.
- Inspect incoming supplies and equipment for quality and compliance with purchase orders, reporting any discrepancies or issues.
- Assist in resolving day-to-day operational challenges, as well as long-term resolution planning. Responsible for researching inefficiencies, making recommendations and implementing changes, in methods, procedures, or systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all received items, ensuring proper documentation and storage.
- Hire, train, and supervise receiving department staff, providing ongoing performance feedback and conducting evaluations.
- Track KPIs and objectives to achieve productivity, quality, service, and safety goals. Ensure accuracy and integrity of performance records and reports.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance department efficiency and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure the timely and efficient distribution of supplies and equipment.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to resolve any issues related to deliveries and ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Ensures facility and materials handling equipment are properly maintained by monitoring vendor service agreements, complying with OSHA standards, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Participates in Labor Relations activities, including disciplinary actions, grievance, and terminations.
- Prepares and furnishes reports on volume activity and staff productivity.
- Monitors and controls traffic flow at dock by prioritizing trucks time at platform and insuring availability of dock time.
- Manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
- Performs other related duties.
Education Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree preferred.
Experience: Requirements
Previous experience in a receiving or inventory management role, preferably in a healthcare setting. Previous experience in management of union personnel preferred.
General Skills and Competencies:
Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Computer Skills:
Inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $65193 - $97790 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
