Duties Description Under the supervision of an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG25, within the Digital Transformation Office, Geospatial Services Bureau, Geospatial Enterprise Services Section will provide GIS platform support to NYS agencies.Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:- Provide GIS service support.- Author automated scripts for new GIS service implementation.- Maintain existing automated scripts for existing GIS services.- Troubleshoot existing issues with GIS services.- Publish new onboard GIS services.- Test new onboard GIS services.- Assist GIS data owners in implementing GIS service solutions.- Manage all published services, applications, and other artifacts.- Set up access accounts.- Provide GIS Server administration/maintenance.- Upgrade, install, and configure ArcGIS Server software.- Navigate and use the server tools on Windows Server VMs.- Check and configure IIS, including installing ArcGIS software.- Test change controls all CIs on ShareGIS.- Provide GIS reporting. - Run reports for GPO in Splunk Dashboards.

Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive services as an Information Technology Specialist 3 OR in a position at G-21 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Note: If you are on the examination eligible list for the position title in this location, you do not need to respond to this posting unless you are also eligible for appointment by one of the qualifications listed above. Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed.
