Traffic Safety Outreach Coordinator (Part Time)

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible to assist with the development and implementation of culturally tailored outreach regarding traffic safety education. Preference will be given to bilingual candidates with the ability to effectively communicate with refugee and immigrant communities served by The Center.

DUTIES: Assist the Manager with education and individual counseling related to traffic safety measures for refugee and immigrant populations, while providing culturally and linguistically appropriate guidance to increase understanding and incorporation of traffic safety concepts into personal behaviors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in health and human services, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience working with refugee populations. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data entry and database management
  • Strong interpersonal skills essential.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and maintain the social media accounts that are utilized by the Traffic Safety Program to provide educational materials and messaging to the greater community.
  • Assist the Manager with data collection and maintaining the traffic safety database to track outcome measures.
  • Be certified to as a child passenger safety technician.
  • Other duties as assigned.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures programs are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and in compliance with contract/funding requirements.
  • Coordinates services with other departments of The Center to assure the client receives a full range of services provided by the agency.
  • Participates in agency long range planning to assure future growth and development of The Center.
  • Promotes the traffic safety program in the community by attending community functions, speaking on behalf of the agency and serving as a liaison with related agencies and service providers.
  • Any other duties required by the agency, contracts, the supervisory management or the Board of Directors of the agency.
