We are seeking a VP‐level Senior Software Developer to lead development and implementation of analytics tools and APIs for quants and portfolio managers. You will provide technical leadership while remaining hands‐on: design, build, test, and deploy scalable front‐end UIs, high‐performance backend services, and APIs; translate quant and portfolio‐manager requirements into technical designs; collaborate with engineering, quant teams, and portfolio managers to define scope and priorities; own delivery, production reliability, and incident response; and mentor peers. Required Experience Strong Python proficiency, advanced SQL for complex data analysis, 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering production systems, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred). Familiarity with quantitative workflows or direct experience working with quant teams is required. Preferred: distributed systems or large‐scale data processing, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD. Front‐end JavaScript experience is a plus. The role requires clear communication, results orientation, and willingness to take on multiple roles to deliver solutions under time pressure. Technical Skills/Qualifications BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field. 10+ years of hands-on software development experience. Strong Python Proficiency is essential. Strong Pandas and SQL proficiency is essential. Familiarity with distributed systems, large scale data processing, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) a plus. Front end development experience a plus. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) is a plus. PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
