The Rooftop is perched atop our eight-story hotel, Le Vaux is a rooftop retreat inspired by the grand French gardens of Vaux-Le-Vicomte and Versailles, blending Parisian elegance with New York’s modern edge. Designed by Martin Brudnizki, the space reflects our signature Art Deco style in soft lavender-green hues. Le Vaux is reserved for the enjoyment of hotel guests and members only.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional, personalized service to our esteemed guests, ensuring their dining experience is seamless, memorable, and exceeds their expectations.

• Possess in-depth knowledge of our menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage pairings. Articulate this information to guests, making recommendations based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.

• Take precise and detailed orders, ensuring accuracy in every aspect. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to guarantee flawless execution and timely delivery of dishes.

• Demonstrate finesse and professionalism when presenting and serving dishes to guests. Engage in tableside preparation of certain items, showcasing your culinary expertise and enhancing the overall dining experience.

• Foster genuine connections with guests, anticipating their needs, and providing personalized attention. Respond promptly and courteously to inquiries, special requests, or concerns, ensuring utmost guest satisfaction.

• Collaborate seamlessly with fellow servers, sommeliers, and the entire restaurant team to ensure smooth service flow and maintain a harmonious work environment.

• Identify and capitalize on upselling opportunities, promoting additional menu items, specialty dishes, and unique culinary experiences, thereby maximizing guest satisfaction and revenue generation.

Starting Salary - $15 per hour + gratuity

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a server in a high-end, fine dining establishment, preferably with exposure to Michelin-starred restaurants. Demonstrated expertise in providing exceptional service and extensive knowledge of gourmet cuisine.

• Fine Dining Etiquette: Exhibit a strong understanding of fine dining etiquette and formal service standards. Exemplify professionalism, grace, and poise in all interactions with guests.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and connect with guests from diverse backgrounds. Fluency in additional languages is a plus.

• Passion for Excellence: Demonstrate a genuine passion for the culinary arts, an eagerness to learn, and a commitment to delivering the highest level of service.
