Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro ICU

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)

Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Hours: 34.5 Hours/Week

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-acuity care for patients transitioning from intensive care. This role involves close monitoring, advanced clinical interventions, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for individuals requiring higher-level monitoring than general medical-surgical patients
• Perform frequent and detailed patient assessments and promptly escalate changes in condition
• Monitor and manage patients using advanced medical equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, feeding tubes, and tracheostomies
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and assist with conscious sedation procedures
• Respond to emergencies including cardiac arrests and rapid response situations
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care processes

Patient Population

• Adult to geriatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Step-Down (SD) experience OR 2 years of ICU experience
• Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
• Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
• Demonstrated competency in age-specific patient care

Preferred Skills

• Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
