Summary

The Practice of Peace Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities through innovative and compassionate services. POP provides a nurturing environment for individuals in transitional housing, helping them develop the skills needed for self-sufficiency and stability. Residential Aides play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of clients residing in POP's shelters. They provide direct services, facilitate activities, and support clients in developing independent living skills. This position requires fostering a safe, clean, and structured environment during evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities

· Interview clients via screening/intake procedures to obtain information about clients' problems/needs, housing, mental health/substance abuse and medical needs, employment history, educational background, and career goals, and to identify barriers to employment and self-sufficiency.

· Provide case management activities, advocacy, referrals, etc.

· Conduct consistent follow-up interviews with clients to determine if their needs have been met.

· Maintain appropriate and timely documentation, progress notes, and screening/ assessment tools.

· Responsible for case load updates, data collection and submission of activities reports and/ or programmatic evaluations (i.e.: client satisfaction surveys).

· Establish and enforce behavioral rules and procedures to maintain order among clients.

· Attend staff meetings, serve on committees as required and is culturally and linguistically competent.

· Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and in-service trainings to maintain and improve professional competence .

· Attends training in Health Realization Approach Commitment to POP’s Mission and Health Realization Approach and participates in trainings.

Professional & Personal Qualifications

· Baccalaureate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field with 2+years of direct service experience or Associate degree in human service, Business administration, or related field with 4+ years of direct service experience.

· CASAC Credentialing in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC) preferred.

· Knowledgeable with special needs population.

· Knowledgeable with case work, case management methodologies.

· Ability to prioritize and successfully complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.

· Attention to detail, organized and efficient.

· Maturity, integrity and sound judgment.

· NY valid driver license.

· Case Load Requirements: Case Managers are required to carry a caseload of clients; the number of clients is dependent upon programmatic needs.

education, Homeowner Services, Emergency Home Repairs, Workforce Development,
Affordable Housing & Tenant Services, Financial Capability, and Energy Efficiency &
Resiliency.
