Job Title: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift | 5x7-Hour Shifts

Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 35 Hours/Week

Compensation:

• Weekly Pay: $2,100 – $2,555 (based on experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to provide psychosocial support and discharge planning services within an inpatient hospital setting. The LMSW will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patients across medical, surgical, rehabilitation, and acute care units. The ideal candidate will possess strong assessment, counseling, and care coordination skills while effectively managing a diverse patient caseload.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for hospitalized patients
• Provide supportive counseling and therapeutic interventions to patients and families
• Develop and coordinate discharge plans to ensure continuity of care
• Facilitate referrals to community resources, rehabilitation programs, and follow-up services
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Assist patients and families with coping strategies, crisis intervention, and care transition planning
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Manage patient caseloads independently while prioritizing patient care needs
• Support care coordination across inpatient medicine, surgery, med/surg, and rehabilitation units

Qualifications:

• Minimum one (1) year of LMSW experience required
• Previous inpatient hospital experience preferred
• Experience in medicine, surgery, med/surg, or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Strong skills in psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, supportive therapy, and referral management required
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required
• English proficiency required (Speak, Read, Write)

Required Education:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work required

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Active Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license issued by New York State Education Department (NYSED) required
• Primary Source Verification required
