Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing accounts receivable tasks in a professional and responsible manner. He/She uses best-practices for all accounting tasks including general data entry, posting payments to customer accounts, generating customer invoices/statements and processing Fleet Charge statements, customer account reconciliations, preparation of bank deposits, processing of all retail sales payments, processing of credit references and requests, the ability to make effective collection calls on delinquent accounts, and monitor customer credit limits. He/She promptly responds to calls, emails, and other correspondence, and treats customers and co-workers with respect. Primary Responsibilities: * Accounts Receivable Data Management Post payments to customer accounts, post all cash, check and credit card transactions for retail sales, prepare and process Fleet Charge payments for the Company and its Associate Dealers, make collection calls on delinquent accounts, monitor customer credit limits, and other general data entry. * Customer Statement Review Prepare customer statements, checking for accuracy and any past-due amounts, print and email/ mail invoices, and contact customers as-needed to follow up on discrepancies. * General Tasks Manage incoming mail (payments, other receivables correspondence, etc.), review Service and Parts Department invoices for accuracy and proper closing, general filing, provide phone coverage for receptionist, and manage other tasks as assigned by the Controller or Senior Management. Qualifications that a candidate must possess to gain consideration for this position:

  • Previous experience working in an accounting position in an office setting
  • Familiarity with standard accounting concepts and best practices
  • Ability to use a personal computer, have general knowledge of accounting software packages, and a general understanding of Microsoft Office software programs
  • Excellent follow-through and problem solving skills
  • Must be self-motivated with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to performing required tasks accurately and professionally
