Fire District Secretary/ Deputy Treasurer
The position has administrative responsibilities and is not exempt from overtime. This individual shall report directly to the Board of Fire Commissioners, and perform the following functions:
- Attend all meetings of the Board of Fire Commissioners, transcribe and distribute minutes of all meetings
- Maintain firefighter records in SCM including new membership, physicals, certifications, training compliance and LOSAP
- Provide notice of meetings and hearings
- Employee benefits coordinator
- Coordinate the Annual Commissioner Election and any Special Elections, prepare ballots and attend election
- Serve as district records management officer
- Proficient in WORD and EXCEL
- Perform other duties incidental to the office of Secretary and as assigned by the Board of Fire Commissioners
- Experience with special district accounting a plus
- Farmingville resident preferred
- Minimum two year’s experience required
Salary $62,400.00
Monday through Friday 8am – 4:30pm
