Position Summary:

We are searching for a Design Reviewer to join our team! This position is remote with the ability to travel. This position is part-time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will perform the following:

  • Review Design Bid Build (DBB) project Milestones for accuracy of what the 1390/91 has approved and ensures the design follows the appropriate Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), ARNG, and ARNG G-9 Design Criteria and Manuals/Guidance.
  • Concept Design, 30% submission received from the FME/State; Conduct a thorough review and provide an assessment to the FME for processing to obtain the 35% approval or a 30% disapproval.
  • Preliminary Design 60%, submission received from the FME/State; Conduct a thorough review and provide an assessment to the FME for processing to obtain the 65% approval or a 60% disapproval.
  • Final Design. 90% submission received from the FME/State; Conduct a thorough review and provide an assessment to the FME for processing to obtain the 95/100% approval or a 90% disapproval.

Design Review Support

  • The reviewer shall perform criteria design reviews of project submittals for completeness and compliance with IAW applicable publications listed in paragraph 6.0 and the approved DD Forms 1390/91.
  • The reviewer shall draft a review memorandum at the completion of each design review and submit it to the FME within 2 weeks of receipt of complete review submittal.
  • The FME will coordinate with the reviewer to ensure the memorandum contains the ARNG G-9 required elements and must be formatted per AR 25-50.
  • The FME will finalize the draft memorandum for processing and approval prior to sending it back to the corresponding States, Territories, or the District of Columbia.


Location

Most design reviews shall be conducted remotely. However, the employee may be required to perform up to 6 on-board reviews per year at the State’s facility location to expedite project execution.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline and at least six (6) years or relevant experience.

Candidate must also have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an ARNG CFMO/DCFMO, or ARNG Project Manager, or demonstrated equivalent of understanding National Guard regulations.

A demonstrated understanding of the processing of DD Form 1354, DD Forms 1390/91, NGB 86-R, NGB 87-R, ASIP, RPLANS, MCCA and NG Form 593.

Background Check and Screenings:

A pre-employment drug screening and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verification is required.
