Kitchen Manager

Location: Garden City, NY

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee back-of-house operations in a high-volume, upscale casual dining environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for food quality, kitchen efficiency, team development, and maintaining high operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage all kitchen operations, including food preparation, line execution, inventory, and sanitation

• Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff to ensure consistency and high performance

• Maintain food quality, presentation, and recipe standards

• Monitor labor costs, food costs, waste, and inventory levels

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations

• Coordinate ordering and vendor relationships to maintain proper stock levels

• Create and manage staff schedules based on business demands

• Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure seamless guest experiences

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment

• Assist with menu execution, specials, and operational improvements

Requirements

• 3+ years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume restaurant

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Experience managing labor and food cost controls

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in upscale casual or full-service dining

• Culinary training or equivalent kitchen experience

• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus

• Experience with inventory and scheduling systems preferred
