Job Title: Patient Registrar / Healthcare Receptionist
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $23/hour (W2)
Location: NYC, NY
Position Summary
The Patient Registrar / Healthcare Receptionist is responsible for providing front-end administrative and registration support in a healthcare setting. This role ensures accurate patient information collection, verification of insurance details, and exceptional customer service to patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Register patients accurately and efficiently in the system
Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility
Perform high-volume data entry while maintaining accuracy standards
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for patient documentation
Answer and route phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Support front-desk operations and general clerical functions as needed
Required Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Some college coursework (preferred)
Experience
Minimum 1 year of clerical or administrative experience (required)
5+ years of clerical experience (strongly preferred)
Experience in a healthcare or medical office setting (preferred)
