Program Manager, LGBTQIA+ Partnerships

Program Oversight
1. Responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive LGBTQ+ community partnership program:
a. Develop new partnerships with various community-based organizations, arts institutions, city agencies and corporate entities to ensure HMI youth access to a comprehensive array of programs and services that fill gaps in HMI's programming and/or enhance HMI program offerings, including partnerships devoted to:
o Arts & Culture
o Academic Enrichment & College Prep Supports
o Job Readiness & Career Development
o Health & Wellness
o Youth Recreation and Sports
o Youth Development, Activism, Leadership Skills
o Youth access to services (ie, legal services, Access VR, vision, etc.)
b. Secure written Memorandum of Understanding with partner organizations, as well as Linkage Agreements/Reciprocal Referral Agreements where appropriate, and/or subcontractor agreements using standardized HMI templates
c. Coordinate with appropriate HMI colleagues and directors to develop effective outreach and implementation plans for new partnership projects and programming, including establishment of protocols for youth enrollment, data collection, purchasing of supplies, branding agreements, scheduling and room usage, supervision of staff/volunteers, and wrap-around supports, etc.
i. Ensure that all outreach plans are designed to extend HMI's outreach through the reach of the partner organization, and to recruit new youth to HMI as well as to enroll existing HMI youth members;
ii. Ensure that all staff from partner orgs who will be on-site at HMI have received appropriate screening/background checks, training and orientation; provide supervision to partner staff during on-site work at HMI;
2. Hire, train and supervise all staff positions devoted to the implementation of HMI programmatic partnerships
3. Work directly with Program Manager of Youth Membership to manage volunteers in Programs
a. Collaborate with Development Team to recruit, schedule and provide orientations to new volunteers
b. Identify programmatic gaps and roles for volunteers
4. Support with special events, Pride events, and offsite youth activities
5. Engage alumni through the development of programming, communication, and events

Administrative Duties
1. Responsible for the implementation and supervision of assigned contract(s) and grants, including development and management of program budgets and work plans
2. Maintain contractual reports as necessary to remain in compliance with funder
requirements; work with Salesforce Administrator and Director of Program Operations to ensure data collection processes are updated in Salesforce as needed
3. Participates in Youth Services Departmental Management Team Meeting (weekly).
4. Support in monitoring and meeting all contractual requirements within Youth Services department to meet compliance standards.
5. Collaborate with other HMI departments and outside agencies to ensure continuity of care.
6. Meet and exceed all compliance standards for HMI and contracts by meeting deadlines, meeting outcomes and maintaining best practices in the delivery of service.

Programmatic Direct Service
Work closely with other HMI departments and staff to support operation of the HMI programmatic and community milieu. Duties include:
a. Outreach and engage youth members during Program Common Hours (3:30pm – 7:30pm).
b. Assist in the facilitation of special events and Community Meetings.
Perform general staff duties, such as Café duty, event set-up/breakdown, Counselor-on-Call, etc.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- At least three years experience with diverse population of adolescents in an urban setting, including knowledge of lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender and questioning youth from various cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment when appropriate; strong decision-making skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience facilitating group discussions and managing a variety of small and large group dynamics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including conflict mediation and public speaking.
- Knowledge of harm reduction practices, trauma-informed care, and positive youth development models.
- Computer Skills: Strong with proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working within a systems or family approach, Trauma-Informed Care and Positive Youth Development models in the treatment of adolescents.
- Strong knowledge of cultural competency issues.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Work split between 2 Astor Place, NYC, and new community partnership locations TBD (see job description above)
- Program work schedule:
Monday-Friday – 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Flexibility required at times to support agency needs.
