- WORK LIFE BALANCE: In addition to a ten-month school year during which our staff are offered on average 33 days off (approximately 7 weeks) for scheduled holidays and school breaks, we provide generous preparation periods throughout each week, limiting the number of after work hours you will need to work - so that you can live the life you wish for - inside and outside of our school. Additionally, our students are dismissed midday each Friday in order for you to meet with your team and division, as well as plan, and prep.

- Follow the directives of the psychosocial and educational classroom staff in working with the individual children as per each child's academic and social and emotional goals (such as self-regulation, impulse control, and executive functioning).
- Support individual classrooms, as well as students in a variety of ways, as determined by the classroom team.
- Be versatile, flexible, and patient, yet firm.
- Empower students to take charge of their learning by providing all necessary scaffolding, modeling, materials, and resources and consistently maintain a high level of expectation for student success.
- Facilitate projects and/or independent activities nurturing the talents and interests of individual students.
- Lead small-group discussions and collaborations extending from the academic curriculum under the guidance of the head teachers and the SEL curriculum under the guidance of the psychosocial teacher.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, including snack, lunch, and outdoor time.
- Follow the professional code and policies of the school and conduct oneself in a manner that promotes the mission and vision of the school
- Utilize Google Suite, in particular Google Drive and Docs.
- Complete clerical tasks in support of classroom learning, including data entry, photocopying, and designing bulletin boards.

- Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education (any subject area), special education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching children in grades K-5.
- At least three years experience as a full-time teacher or teacher's assistant.
- Master's degree in elementary education (any subject area), special education, or a related field.
- Special education training, including training in the areas of gifted education and twice-exceptional youth.
- Secondary (any subject) and/or special education teaching credential.
- Experience teaching twice-exceptional youth.
