Maintenance Electrician

Flexovit USA Inc ., a manufacturer of high quality “Made in the USA” bonded abrasives, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Electrician at our Angola, NY facility.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance to all production and support equipment under limited supervision.
• Have working knowledge of general electrical construction practices and codes, wiring, industrial electronics, instrumentation installation, and calibration.
• Be responsible for the overall integrity and reliability of control systems throughout the plant. Have working knowledge of AC/DC drives and PLC.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machine breakdowns such as electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems up to 480v. Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering & manufacturing specifications while troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Actively participate in identifying equipment and safety improvements.

Minimum qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3 years’ experience in industrial electrical maintenance or equivalent education in a related field.
• Must be a team player and willing to pitch in where needed
• Willing to work around industrial moving machinery.
• Willing and able to work any shift, including nights and weekends, and overtime outside your regular scheduled hours, as required.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, pushing/pulling, and twisting over surfaces
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personal lifts, or platforms
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as required by position.
• Ability to work with parts (mold or mask plates) that can weight up to 100 lbs.; press heads that weight up to 200lbs. (Cranes are used to maneuver parts.)
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty environment.
