Location: Sodus, New York Disclaimer : Reliant headquarters are located at 10 Benton Place, Sodus, New York. The position will allow for some remote work flexibility; however, an in-person presence at our headquarters is expected.

Schedule: Monday - Friday. Must be flexible to meet current and future business needs.

General Summary:

Reliant Credit union, ranked one of Rochester's top mid-sized workplaces eight years in a row, seeks a Developer to join our team.

The Developer is responsible for providing technical direction and support in the development and maintenance of business software and related procedures. They will work with Reliant’s core financial system, implementing opportunities for enhancement and creation of applications.

As the Developer at Reliant, you will:

• Develop and implement software application projects for the credit union and assist in the creation of procedures/processes for efficient functioning.
• Develop reports and improve operational processes by utilizing tools provided by the vendors. Analyze existing programs for enhancement requests.
• Maintain process automation systems to ensure accurate and timely execution of credit union processes.
• Perform programming duties and leverage relationships with outside parties to create more complex programming code.
• Patch, update, and maintain the core banking system.
• Maintain system documentation (system schedule, procedure manuals, and error history).
• Recommend changes and updates to systems as appropriate to improve functionality and meet business requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and schemas to support applications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, and three years of related work experience; additional related work experience considered in lieu of educational requirements.
• 2 years of experience with server-side Java.
• 2 years of experience with Javascript and supported frameworks (React/EXTJS)
• 2 years of experience with Python and supported web frameworks (Flask/Django) is a plus
• 2 years of experience designing, maintaining, querying, and updating SQL relational databases (MS SQL, DB2, PostgreSQL)
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others, to gain cooperation, and to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including vendors. Strong ability to communicate, analyze, and problem-solve to help identify and resolve issues.
• Strong personal computer skills, including word-processing, database management and spreadsheets.
• The ability to read and understand technical documentation and the ability to communicate effectively with the end user.
• Strong technical writing skills with ability to document program code and translate complicated technological terms into plain English with clarity and tact. The ability to accurately test and debug program code.

Physical Requirements:

• Use of keyboard, monitor, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
• Communicate effectively in person and via telephone, video conferencing, email, and written documents.
• Access document equipment and files above and below waist levels.
• Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
