Job Summary

The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic examinations on pediatric patients. This role requires specialized experience in pediatric echocardiography, strong technical expertise, and the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to patient and equipment-related issues while working collaboratively with clinical staff.

Shift & Schedule

• Schedule: Day Shift

• Hours: 5 × 7.5-hour shifts

• Typical Shift Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Days: Monday through Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive pediatric echocardiogram examinations in accordance with established protocols

• Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment and related supplies

• Ensure accurate image acquisition for diagnostic interpretation

• Identify equipment malfunctions and resolve issues or report them appropriately

• Recognize patient-related concerns and promptly notify clinical staff (MD/RN) as needed

• Provide safe, compassionate, and age-appropriate patient care

• Maintain accurate documentation and follow departmental procedures

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and technical staff to support quality diagnostic outcomes

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Completion of an approved Echocardiogram Training Program

• Echocardiography certification through:

  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or

  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS – Echo)

• Mandatory pediatric echocardiography experience

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience performing echocardiography

• Demonstrated knowledge of echocardiography equipment, procedures, and supplies

• Basic clerical and documentation skills
