Junior Data Associate

Key Accountabilities

• Support the Data & Research Director on a wide range of projects throughout the 2026 campaign season, including polling operations, mailing list management, and voter targeting analysis.
• Maintain meticulous organization of data department materials, including continuous recordkeeping of trackers, files, and documentation to ensure accuracy and version control.
• Provide thorough quality assurance and proofing support for all polling materials, including final survey instruments, link testing, language matching, presentations, code, and related outputs.
• Help ensure the team meets established deadlines by tracking progress, flagging issues early, and following documented processes.
• Complete additional projects as needed, including research briefs, VAN lookups, and outreach list compilation for rapid-response messaging campaigns.

Core Competencies:

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including data cleaning, validation, and extracting insights from large datasets.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to catch errors, follow complex instructions, and produce accurate, error-free work.
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing repetitive, precision-based tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Basic familiarity with the programming language R and a willingness to deepen technical skills during onboarding.
• Ability to communicate clearly about data issues, questions, or inconsistencies.

Education and Experience

• Candidates who are still completing their undergraduate or technical degree will be happily considered.
• Availability of 20-25 hours per week from early March 2026 through November 2026 is required; hours may vary as the campaign season progresses.
• Experience with VoteBuilder / NGP VAN is preferred but not required.
• Candidates that share our passion for Democratic politics is a plus!
