LTC Pharmacy Billing Technician
Compensation: ~$25/hr (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Monsey, NY — 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM Position Overview
Our client is a rapidly growing long-term care pharmacy services provider supporting skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and specialty care organizations. They deliver comprehensive medication management, compliance oversight, consulting, and operational support to ensure residents receive accurate, timely, and compliant pharmaceutical care.
We are seeking a detail-oriented LTC Pharmacy Billing Technician to support the billing operations for long-term care pharmacy consulting services. This role focuses on resolving rejections, verifying coverage, ensuring accurate billing for medications and services, and maintaining compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on pharmacy billing experience and thrives in a fast-paced, accuracy-driven environment. Key Responsibilities
- Review, identify, and resolve claim rejections, errors, and discrepancies.
- Verify insurance eligibility, coverage details, formulary rules, and prior authorization requirements.
- Communicate with insurance plans, facilities, and healthcare providers to clarify billing issues.
- Maintain accurate billing records, reimbursement logs, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with LTC pharmacy regulations, payer requirements, and internal guidelines.
- Support end-of-month billing cycles, audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Collaborate with pharmacy team members to ensure accurate medication and NDC information for billing.
- Provide exceptional customer service to facility partners regarding billing inquiries.
- Previous experience in pharmacy billing or LTC pharmacy billing is required.
- Strong knowledge of insurance plans, billing processes, and claim adjudication.
- Experience resolving insurance rejections and interpreting common denial codes.
- Familiarity with medication names, NDCs, billing units, and pharmacy workflows .
- Proficiency with pharmacy billing software and electronic claim systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work onsite in a structured, fast-paced environment.
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy , specialty pharmacy, or institutional pharmacy settings.
- Knowledge of Medicare Part D , Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements.
- Understanding of pharmacy compliance standards, documentation practices, and regulatory expectations.
