Materials & FF&E Coordinator (Full-Time, In-Studio | DUMBO, Brooklyn)

Durukan Design — a boutique interior design studio specializing in high-end multi-family residential, hospitality, and commercial projects — is seeking a Materials & FF&E Coordinator to join our DUMBO studio.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong eye for materials and finishes. You’ll support our design team with material research, specifications, sample management, and presentation prep for active projects across NYC.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the materials library: organize, catalogue, and maintain up-to-date samples.
• Order samples and coordinate with vendors, reps, and suppliers.
• Assemble material palettes, physical mockups, and digital finish boards.
• Prepare and update specification books, schedules, and material documentation (Excel, PDFs, PowerPoint).
• Assist designers with FF&E sourcing and pricing.
• Support the team in preparing client presentations.
• Communicate professionally with vendors, clients, and project partners.
• Ensure all material and finish information is accurate, consistent, and project-ready.

Requirements

• 2–4+ years of experience in design studios, architecture firms, or FF&E roles.
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and vendor reps.
• Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and general technical/computer skills.
• Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Great communication skills — verbal, written, and interpersonal.
• Ability to work in-person at our DUMBO studio Monday–Thursday (Friday remote optional).
• Positive attitude and a collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with project specs, material schedules, and FF&E documentation.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop).
• Previous experience in multi-family residential design.
