Bartender
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Mixology & Prep: Preparing classic and signature cocktails, pouring beer/wine, and prepping garnishes (citrus, herbs, syrups) before the shift.
- Bar Management: Maintaining a clean workspace, washing glassware, and restocking ice, liquor, and mixers.
- Inventory & Ordering: Tracking stock levels, flagging low inventory, and sometimes assisting with liquor orders.
- Guest Engagement: Acting as a "brand ambassador," suggesting drinks based on guest preferences, and managing "regulars."
- Legal Compliance: Strictly verifying IDs to prevent underage drinking and monitoring guest intoxication levels to ensure responsible service.
Essential Skills
- Speed & Muscle Memory: Making multiple complex drinks simultaneously while keeping your workspace organized.
- Deep Product Knowledge: Understanding flavor profiles, spirit categories (e.g., the difference between Mezcal and Tequila), and wine regions.
- Cash Handling: Processing tabs quickly and accurately, often managing a high volume of cash tips.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalating situations with over-intoxicated guests firmly but professionally.
