CLERICAL TECH
Job Summary
The Clerical Tech provides all necessary clerical support to ensure the efficient daily operation of the Business Office in conjunction with coordinating and overseeing all information that is processed through our Electronic Patient Folder.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Information Processing: The Clerical Tech coordinates the processing of all Information into the Electronic Patient Folder, by prepping documents and scanning into the Patient Folder. This includes but not limited to Daily correspondence from Insurace Companies or any other outside source, Daily lockboxes and mail payments, IP Authorizations, Zero Pay documents, Credit Cards, No Fault and Workers Comp. documentation and any other document that needs to reside in the Patient Folder.
- Patient Financial Infarmation Requests: The Clerical Tech processes any requests for Patient financial information that is received from any outside agencies, Ambulance Companies, Lawyers, and other Providers in a timely and efficient manner, while ensuring that all HIPAA regulations and proper "Release of Information" procedures are followed for patient privacy.
- Service Excellence: Clerical Tech provides service excellence to patients and their families that meets or exceed patient expectations through including, but not limited to Answering the incoming internal and external phone calls from Patients and/or any other source and assisting with questions or forwarding calls to applicable Team within the Business Office that can give appropriate assistance. Provides service excellence by following organizational and departmental policies and procedures to accommodate the distribution of the mail and all correspondence and updating necessary information in the systems to ensure that the daily workflow is not interrupted.
- Quality Improvement: The Clerical Tech engages in quality improvement initiatives including, but not limited to: continuing education on service delivery processes and protocol; participation in hospital-wide and specific teams; identifying practice areas for improvement with an openness to change.
Education/Experience Requirements
Required:- High School Graduate
- Two (2) Years experience in billing in a medical setting
- Associates Degree
