Activities Aide
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Activity Aide to join our long term care team. The Activity Aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing meaningful recreational programs that enhance the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive well-being of our residents.
This role is essential in promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life for residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist the Activities Director in planning and conducting daily group and individual activities
- Engage residents in social, recreational, and therapeutic programs
- Encourage resident participation while respecting individual preferences and limitations
- Transport residents to and from activities as needed
- Document participation and resident responses in accordance with facility policy
- Maintain activity supplies and equipment
- Support special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings
- Maintain a safe and clean activity environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in long term care, recreation, or working with seniors preferred
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Ability to lift, bend, push wheelchairs, and assist residents as needed
Schedule:
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, every other weekend, and holidays as required
