Cosme is seeking a passionate and driven Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef to work alongside the Chef de Cuisine and kitchen leadership team in executing one of New York City's most acclaimed dining experiences.

The Sous Chef plays a vital role in leading daily kitchen operations, mentoring and developing the culinary team, maintaining exceptional quality standards, and ensuring seamless service. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys coaching others, and is committed to continuous learning and professional growth.

As a member of the leadership team, the Sous Chef will help uphold Cosme's culinary philosophy while contributing to menu execution, operational excellence, and an outstanding guest experience.

• Support the Chef de Cuisine in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations.
• Lead and motivate the culinary team during prep and service while fostering a positive and accountable work environment.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items.
• Train, mentor, and develop line cooks and junior team members.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, food cost control, and waste reduction.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Collaborate with the culinary leadership team on seasonal menu execution and continuous operational improvements.
• Lead by example through professionalism, teamwork, and hands-on participation in all aspects of kitchen operations.

• 3+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume, fine dining kitchen.
• Strong culinary technique and a commitment to quality and consistency.
• Experience supervising, training, and developing kitchen teams.
• Understanding of inventory management, food cost, and kitchen operations.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
• Passion for hospitality, leadership, and continuous learning.
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• English proficiency required; Spanish is a plus.

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
