Client: Manufacturing Organization Role: Controller (Temporary to Hire) Pay Rate: $80/hr - $85/hr Location: Manhattan, NY - *Midtown* - 5 days a week onsite Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Core Accounting Month-End Close: Own and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. General Ledger & Payables: Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable (AP) and general ledger reconciliations; maintain strong internal controls across core operations. External Tax Collaboration: Partner with external accounting firms on tax filings and WIP-related tax accounting. Cost Accounting & Operational Finance Standard Costing: Establish, maintain, and refine standard cost models, particularly to support the commercialization and scaling of new product lines. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and regular inventory audit/count procedures. WIP & Cost Analysis: Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) tracking and analyze direct labor, materials, overhead allocation, and variance reporting to drive efficiency. Qualifications & Requirements Must-Have Qualifications Manufacturing Experience: Proven track record in a manufacturing, assembly, or physical product enterprise. Cost & Inventory Accounting: Deep understanding of cost accounting frameworks, inventory valuation, and variance tracking. Standard Costing Expertise: Hands-on experience developing and maintaining standard cost models. Hands-On Accounting Skills: Strong month-end close background with a clear grasp of core accounting mechanics (GL, AP, accruals). Location: Must be able to work 100% onsite at our New York City location.
