General Manager
SHIRAZ KITCHEN & WINE BAR
Define Hospitality.
Chelsea, New York City
General Manager
Chelsea Location
At Shiraz Kitchen, hospitality is not a department—it’s a discipline. It’s the Persian tradition of treating every guest as if they’ve entered your own home, and it requires a leader who understands that a great dining room is built on precision, warmth, and an unrelenting commitment to excellence.
We’re looking for a General Manager who will own the full operation of our Chelsea location—someone who leads from the floor, builds and retains exceptional teams, drives financial performance, and ensures that every service reflects the standard our guests and our reputation demand.
What You’ll Own
Operations & Guest Experience
- Lead all front-of-house operations with a floor-first mentality—visible, present, and setting the tone every service.
- Uphold MICHELIN-level service standards across every guest touchpoint, from reservation to farewell.
- Manage reservations systems, floor plans, and pacing to maximize covers without compromising the guest experience.
- Ensure the dining room, bar, and private event spaces are immaculately maintained and guest-ready at all times.
- Handle guest concerns with empathy, ownership, and the kind of grace that turns problems into loyalty.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, and retain a high-performing FOH team that embodies the Shiraz culture of hospitality.
- Build a coaching-driven environment—conduct regular pre-shifts, performance reviews, and development conversations.
- Manage scheduling, labor costs, and staffing levels to balance service quality with operational efficiency.
- Foster a team culture rooted in accountability, mutual respect, and pride in the work.
Financial Performance
- Own the Chelsea P&L—manage food costs, beverage costs, labor, and controllable expenses to meet or exceed targets.
- Analyze weekly and monthly financial reports, identify trends, and take proactive action to protect margins.
- Drive top-line revenue through strategic upselling, private event conversion, and guest retention initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships, inventory controls, and purchasing with a cost-conscious, quality-first approach.
- Collaborate with the Owner on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic growth planning.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of restaurant management experience, with at least 2 years as a GM or senior AGM in an upscale, fine dining, or MICHELIN-recognized environment.
- Proven track record of managing a P&L and delivering strong financial results while maintaining hospitality excellence.
- A leader who builds teams people don’t want to leave—someone who develops talent, sets clear expectations, and leads by example on the floor.
- Deep understanding of NYC’s competitive dining landscape, labor market, and guest expectations.
- Strong command of restaurant technology: POS systems, reservation platforms (Resy/OpenTable), inventory management, and reporting tools.
- Wine and beverage knowledge is a significant plus—our 175+ bottle biodynamic wine program is central to the Shiraz experience.
- Comfortable operating across culturally diverse teams and guest communities with professionalism and warmth.
- Someone who takes ownership, communicates directly, and doesn’t wait to be told what needs to happen.

Why Shiraz
This is not a corporate restaurant. There are no layers between you and the decision-maker. You’ll run a MICHELIN-recognized kitchen and dining room in one of Manhattan’s most vibrant neighborhoods, backed by an owner who came from the floor and understands what it takes. If you’re looking for a place where your work is visible, your leadership matters, and the culture is built on something real—this is it.
