Compensation
Compensation: $61,200.00-$74,800.00 Plus Excellent Benefits including vacation, 401k and health/vision/dental.
Job Summary
.The Project Engineer at Barrett Paving Materials Inc. is primarily responsible for providing primary oversight on assigned field operations and reports to the Project Manager.
Main Responsibilities
- Read and understand plans and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs.
- Perform solicitations to Vendors and Subcontractors.
- Work on project site to observe progression.
- Communicate roll out of projects with Project Manager, Superintendent and field personnel.
- Perform safety requirements and ensure that risks are mitigated.
- Perform submittals to agencies as the need arises for construction of project.
- Review and analyze job cost information – verify accurate and complete, address and or correct as necessary.
- Connect with Project Manager and Superintendent on a regular basis to ensure project issues and concerns are addressed.
- Review billing quantities from information provided by field personnel and contractual requirements.
- Provide clear step-by-step directions and answer questions while organizing the project.
- Able to work and assist others to work in a safe manner within the guidelines of the company’s policies.
Skills
- Experience in phases of heavy civil construction related to bridge, heavy highway, earthwork and drainage.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Current, valid Driver’s license.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends if required.
Education
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field OR equivalent related experience.
