Senior Project Manager, Executive Office

New York Public Radio
New York, NY

Description

Senior Project Manager, Executive Office

Role Summary

New York Public Radio is seeking a Senior Project Manager to help drive a set of high-priority, organization-wide initiatives at a pivotal moment of transformation.

Reporting into the Growth & Engagement function and working in close partnership with the President & CEO, this role will operate at the center of NYPR’s multiplatform evolution, helping translate the organization’s growth and engagement strategy into coordinated, cross-functional execution. The Senior Project Manager will also serve as a key partner to the Head of Growth & Engagement, helping to drive alignment and follow-through across priority initiatives.

The Senior Project Manager will support initiatives spanning strategic planning, key executive priorities, and the development of new capabilities such as a centralized analytics function. This role will bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex work, ensuring teams and stakeholders are aligned and key priorities move forward.

As part of NYPR’s broader effort to evolve into a more integrated, multiplatform organization, one that reaches audiences wherever they are, builds direct relationships, and creates a more sustainable future for public media, this role will play a key part in helping the organization move from strategy to coordinated execution. The work ahead is shaped by an environment of rapid change, including the accelerating influence of AI and other disruptive technologies, and this role will help NYPR navigate that landscape with agility and focus.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Enterprise Priorities

  • Support the design and execution of NYPR’s strategic planning process

  • Coordinate cross-functional working sessions and synthesize outputs into clear direction

  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable roadmaps, timelines, and ownership

Executive & CEO Office Initiatives

  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, helping prioritize work, prepare for key decisions, and ensure follow-through on critical initiatives

  • Bring structure and follow-through to complex, fast-moving workstreams

  • Support alignment and communication across leadership teams and organizational stakeholders

Cross-Functional Program Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate initiatives that span product, content, marketing, data, and revenue functions

  • Identify dependencies, risks, and gaps and ensure they are addressed

  • Establish clear communication rhythms and maintain alignment across stakeholders

  • Drive execution against Growth & Engagement priorities and shared cross-functional KPIs

Building Scalable Capabilities

  • Support the development and operationalization of new functions, including emerging capabilities in analytics and data-driven decision-making

  • Help define initial processes, workflows, and ways of working

  • Bring structure to areas that are currently fragmented or undefined, laying the groundwork for sustained, scalable operations

Operating Model & Execution

  • Introduce effective, lightweight project management practices across initiatives

  • Create visibility into priorities, progress, and outcomes

  • Help strengthen coordination, accountability, and execution across teams

  • Support the adoption of tools and workflows—including AI-assisted approaches—where they improve speed, efficiency, and insight

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, consulting, or operational roles

  • Experience working across functions in complex organizations

  • Strong ability to bring structure to ambiguous, evolving work

  • Excellent communication and synthesis skills, including the ability to turn complex information into clear narratives and recommendations for diverse stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects from concept through execution

  • Experience supporting senior leadership or executive-level initiatives preferred

  • Collaborative, inclusive approach to working across diverse teams and communities

  • A deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the mission, model, and values of public media
