Job Title: Mental Health Therapy Aide – Evening Shift (Local Contract)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Job Type: Contract
Shift: Evening | 3x12-Hour Shifts per Week
Compensation:
Local Rate: $1,035/Week
Travel Rate: $1,390/Week
Deliver direct and indirect patient care in an acute psychiatric setting
Monitor and record vital signs; assist with physical assessments and admissions
Collect patient specimens and monitor intake/output
Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and hygiene
Transport patients and orient them to unit protocols and schedules
Perform safety checks and support crisis interventions to ensure patient safety
Foster therapeutic relationships and engage patients in structured unit activities
Accurately report patient observations and document in the EMR system
Collaborate with nursing staff on unit operations and patient care
Apply age-appropriate psychological and behavioral interventions
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in behavioral health or inpatient psychiatric care (2+ years preferred)
Current CPR certification
Prior experience in pediatric behavioral health strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
