Senior Residential Aide

Job Description:
The Senior Residential Aide is responsible for the overall daily operations of their assigned shelter. This includes scheduling, training and supervision of residential aides; ensuring the maintenance of a clean, safe environment; monitoring and maintaining all required documentation and ensuring that the facilities comply with regulations. The Senior Residential Place is responsible for coordinating coverage for their assigned shelters.
Responsibilities :
1. Ensure a clean and safe environment by continually monitoring the facilities for cleanliness and facilities maintenance, including periodically accompanying residential aides during room inspections and building walk-throughs.
2. Orient and train new residential aides.
3. Ensure that all documentation is maintained, including the daily logbook, visitors log, client sign in-sheets, emergency housing sheets, fire safety log, vendor/inspection log and staff training logbooks.
- Document information during shift activities in the logs and advise the Case Manager and or Program Director as needed.
5. Provide on-going supervision of residential aides including annual performance reviews, as well as training and assistance in enhancing charting skills and documentation to staff based on on-going reviews of logs and documentation.
6. Facilitate smooth operations by tracking and ordering basic supplies for the shelter.
7. Coordinate with maintenance staff regarding work order priorities.
8. Ensure that daily census and are completed and submitted accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Answer phones and assist clients with daily needs.
10. Ensure adequate staffing coverage by approving and managing daily changes in staffing residential aides in the shelter; coordinating with the other Senior Residential Aides when needed to coordinate coverage across shelter locations.
- Conduct fire drills and document fire drills as directed by Executive Director and Operations Manager, as required.
- Participate and successfully complete trainings, such as CPR, as required.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and two years working in a social services environment; basic computer literacy, including email, Word and Excel; familiarity with community resources and social service systems; strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication /organizational skills. Current CPR certification is required for this position.
Physical Requirements:
The ability to climb stairs repeatedly; ability to lift 25 lbs; and the ability to perform repetitive motions such as required in typing charts and documentation.
