Android Engineer

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help us build the next generation of products that go beyond just ID, enabling our members to seamlessly navigate an increasingly connected world with digital identity at the core. As an Android Engineer at CLEAR, you will contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of applications that enhance our platform—one that interconnects dozens of attributes and qualifications while keeping member privacy and security at the forefront. This role is in the Travel & Aviation team within the Engineering org, which focuses on building amazing consumer experiences in our airport lanes and collaborates with various engineering and product teams across the company. Mobile is becoming an increasingly central part of our user experience, and this role provides an opportunity to have a significant impact on how members interact with CLEAR.

What you'll do:

• Develop and deliver code across the mobile stack, building delightful user experiences and championing engineering excellence through best practices in app architecture, testing, observability and documentation


• Partner with product, design and other stakeholders to uncover requirements, innovate, and solve complex problems


• Contribute to advancing our capabilities across a wide array of industries and domains while gaining hands-on experience with privacy, security, data modeling, and architecture


• Take ownership of your work, contribute to architectural decisions, and continuously seek ways to improve technology and processes at CLEAR

What you're great at:

• 3+ years of software development experience


• Working with mobile application development, and being comfortable with at least a few of:
  
  
  • Android ecosystem, including Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
  
  
  • Collaboration, integration, and deployment tools like Github, Jenkins, App Store, and Play Store
  
  


• Working in and familiar with agile development environments


• Articulating technical concepts to a mixed audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders


• Deep collaboration across engineering, product, and design


• Comfort with ambiguity


• Curiosity about technology, belief in constant learning, and the ability to be autonomous to figure out what's important

The base salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of CLEAR’s total compensation package for employees and other rewards may include annual bonuses, commission, Restricted Stock Units.
