Location: Based in/near Buffalo, Albany, Syracuse and Tioga PA

Pay: Usually Prevailing wage rates (IBEW preferred, not required) Most Operators are over $100k
Schedule: Full-time | Primarily local work | Some travel required

About the Role

Hydro X USA is looking for a Hydro Excavation Operator who knows what it takes to do hard, dirty, important work — and does it with pride. You'll be operating a full-size hydrovac truck on utility, telecom, and infrastructure projects across the region. This isn’t a “punch-the-clock” kind of job. This is essential work for experienced professionals who want to serve clients at the highest level — the kind who say, “What else do you need?” instead of, “That’s not my job.”

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate full-size hydrovac trucks for daylighting, trenching, potholing, and debris removal
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and routine equipment maintenance
• Accurately follow utility locate markings and dig safely around sensitive infrastructure
• Support general labor as needed (hose handling, debris cleanup, tool use, etc.)
• Represent HydroX USA’s core values on every jobsite — professionalism, problem-solving, and people-first service
• Travel when required (typically home weekends); work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Who We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

• Minimum 1 year experience operating a hydro excavation truck (vac truck, hydrovac, or similar)
• Valid CDL with clean MVR (Class A or B)
• High physical stamina — able to lift 50+ lbs, handle long days, and work in extreme weather
• Willingness to travel regionally for work as needed
• Strong attention to safety, detail, and customer service
• Team-first attitude — no task is beneath you

Nice-to-Haves:

• IBEW membership
• OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR
• Experience working in utility, telecom, or industrial environments
