Senior project engineer
Boldyn Networks US Operations LLC, New York, NY seeks Senior Project Engineers - Prepare and complete, accurate and timely submittal logs for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications. Accountable for receiving approved submittals from Architect or Design Team and notifying the Project Manager of potential schedule impact. Assist Project Manager by reviewing all necessary back up relating to change requests. Act as liaison between construction and design teams to include leading design development from schematic design through 100% Construction Documents, ensuring coordination between architects, engineers and contractors to meet project milestones and apply value engineering principles to optimize cost savings. Create and review Change Directives and Change Orders for the Project Manager’s review and approval. Verify contractor payment, conduct field inspection (if necessary), verifications and prepare Field Observation Reports. Responsible for timely completion of all required project close-out documents per contract. Distribute contract documents to Field Engineers and subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, and general conditions. Include any accepted alternates or addendums with documents. Review and analyze construction documents, plans, specifications and technical memoranda to assess constructability and biddability and provide actionable feedback to contractors and consultants, ensuring designs are practical, feasible and cost-effective, while marking up drawings using Bluebeam and AutoCAD to track changes and ensure field personnel possess latest released drawings. Distribute final requirement documentation to subcontractors and accounting department. Schedule all required construction meetings with required personnel, subcontractors, architects, and owners. Take accurate and complete meeting minutes and distribute in timely manner. Attend pre-bid, kick-off, project and closeout meetings. Prepare correspondence with Owner, Architect, Engineers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc. Examples of referenced correspondence include, but not limited to the following items: Schedule of Values, project schedule, memos, request for information, transmittals and submittals. Track Transit provided services and review with NYCT. Review all invoices for Project Manager approval and develop and maintain detailed cost reports, track construction schedules, consultant contracts and manage change orders to ensure alignment with the original project budget using tools like Procore and MTRAC. Review daily reports from Field Engineers and Subcontractors to track if progress is on time and under budget and review contractor submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs) and field clarifications to verify compliance with Contract Documents, building codes, safety regulations, and Agency policies. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors and stakeholders, utilizing industry-standard practices including fast-track design-build processes to expedite project delivery and document quality and progress of each Subcontractor and Suppliers. Inform Subcontractors and Suppliers of any changes to the plans, specifications and/or schedule. Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and timelines for construction projects, reporting regularly to senior leadership on project status, cost efficiency and potential escalations and prepare necessary documentation for Progress Meetings with NYCT, including but not limited to Project Status, Job Completion Stage, and other issues. Conduct comprehensive project analysis for upcoming phases of the MTA expansion project to assess viability, identify risks, and recommend adjustments for successful project execution within schedule and budget. Develop and execute comprehensive project strategies for the MTA Expansion project based on access of tunnel tracks and future contract integration opportunities. Generate accurate Bills of Materials, Quantities, and Scopes of Work for prospective subcontractors and design consultants. Lead contract negotiations with contractors, material suppliers with the support of the procurement team to secure favorable terms on labor, materials, and budgets while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations with MTA. Develop project schedule for each of the phases of construction in tunnel expansion by subway lines. Create cost analysis for different design permutations to analyze variance in project and program cost for the MTA expansion.
Requires Bachelor’s (or educ. equiv.) Degree in Project Management, Architectural Engineering or closely related field of study and four (4) yrs. experience in Job Offered or related. Experience must have included Review and analyze construction documents, plans, specifications and technical memoranda to assess constructability and biddability and provide actionable feedback to contractors and consultants, ensuring designs are practical, feasible and cost-effective, while marking up drawings using Bluebeam and AutoCAD to track changes; Review contractor submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs) and field clarifications to verify compliance with Contract Documents, building codes, safety regulations, and Agency policies; Lead design development from schematic design through 100% Construction Documents, ensuring coordination between architects, engineers and contractors to meet project milestones and apply value engineering principles to optimize cost savings; Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Scopes of Work (SOW) for projects to ensure precise cost projections and procurement schedules; Develop and manage project schedules and phasing plan using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, integrating cost components and ensuring project milestones are met on-time and within budget; Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors and stakeholders, utilizing industry-standard practices including fast-track design-build processes to expedite project delivery; Develop and maintain detailed cost reports, track construction schedules, consultant contracts and manage change orders to ensure alignment with the original project budget using tools like Procore and MTRAC; Formulate and implement comprehensive project strategies, coordinating from initial design stages to final construction, ensuring effective contractor and subcontractor selection based on performance metrics; Conduct due diligence to evaluate the viability of projects based on schedule, budget constraints and market conditions to assess risks and ensure project success within defined parameters; Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and timelines for construction projects, reporting regularly to senior leadership on project status, cost efficiency and potential escalations. $149,500/yr.
